Edna (Gonzales) Posada was born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley. She launched her company, Aldani Inc., in 1989 and currently is the sole owner of its three subsidiary businesses: Spa La Posada/Merle Norman Cosmetic Studios.

Posada’s passion for her business and her community has been recognized locally. She was recently named a Shining Star of Hidalgo County by the Zonta International Club and received the Women in Business Champion Award by the U.S. Small Business Association for 2011.

Posada grew her business to what is today as a single mother raising her two children (Alexandria, 21, and Daniel, 17), which is why she is so passionate about helping other female entrepreneurs.

Posada has made many strides to help advance women in business, especially within her own company where she employs 23 women, some of which have been with her for over 13 years.

She co-founded the non-profit Dress for Success and was on the board of the Rio Grande Valley Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, which allowed her to tackle issues that affect women entering the business world. This year, she was appointed to the Texas Workforce Board of Directors — a position she is honored of holding. She has been asked to speak at several events on a variety of business and beauty related topics, such as marketing, women’s empowerment, how to dress for the workplace, and on beauty trends and tips.

Her other honors include Business Woman of the Year for the McAllen Hispanic Chamber and the Texas Association of Mexican American Chambers of Commerce, Women in Business Advocate of the Year for the Lower Rio Grande Valley and Region VI by the U.S. SBA and serving on the Merle Norman Cosmetics Corporate Board of Directors.
